In optimal charging conditions the Freedom V² CPAP Battery can be charged in approximately 4 hours (0% to 100%).

What are the optimal conditions for charging?

Optimal charging conditions include:

 

  • direct sunlight with the panels angled toward the sun
  • no clouds
  • no hanging branches or obstructions to sunlight
  • no shade covering any of the panels
  • no dirt or debris on the solar cells

How do I obtain maximum output from the Freedom 50W Solar Panel?

To obtain maximum output always try to charge in the optimal conditions listed above and angle the panels toward direct sunlight and continue to adjust the placement of the panels to track the sun’s movement throughout the day.

Is the Freedom 50W Solar Panel waterproof?

The solar panels are weather-resistant and will not be harmed if exposed to light rain or snow; however, the built-in voltage controller box and the output cable are not weather-resistant and must be kept dry.

Can I leave the Freedom 50W Solar Panel outside for continual use?

No. The solar panels are not designed for continuous outdoor use. When not in use wipe the panels with a clean, dry cloth and fold for storage.

Does the Freedom 50W Solar Panel hold a charge?

No. The solar panels only produce power when exposed to sunlight and that power is not stored and must be transferred to a battery source.

Can the Freedom 50W Solar Panel power my CPAP machine directly?

No. The Freedom 50W Solar Panel is used to charge the Freedom V² CPAP Battery which in turn can power a CPAP machine.

Why is the Work Indicator light on when nothing is plugged into the solar panel?

The Work Indicator light on the voltage controller box displays when the solar panels are exposed to any amount of UV rays and simply shows the voltage control box is working regardless if anything is plugged into the USB or DC OUT ports.
