The Freedom CPAP Battery gives you the freedom to power your PAP device when and where you need it!

The Freedom is the perfect solution for outdoor and travel enthusiasts. It’s great for use in tents, RVs, travel trailers, and boats. It’s also ideal for those who love to travel abroad as it meets FAA requirements for lithium-ion batteries that can be taken in carry-on baggage.

When inclement weather strikes you can use the Freedom CPAP Battery as a backup power supply during power outages so you never have to worry about another sleepless night without your CPAP machine.

The easy-to-read digital display indicates the remaining charge level of the battery and if you need more power you can always pigtail two Freedom batteries together.

Going off the grid or just need even more time to enjoy your travel adventures? With the addition of the Auto Charge DC Cable or Sine Wave Power Inverter you can charge the Freedom in a vehicle and with the Freedom 50W Solar Panel you can charge the Freedom using the power of the sun!

As an added bonus the Freedom CPAP Battery features a 5V USB port and a DC input cord that let you charge most common handheld devices such as cell phones, MP3 players and tablets.

Does the Freedom CPAP Battery work with all makes and models of PAP devices?

All PAP device makes and models have different voltage and direct current capability requirements which determine the type of external battery that can be used. The unique universal design of the Freedom CPAP Battery allows it to power most common PAP devices; however, some devices will require a device-specific connection component. Please note these components are not included in the standard Freedom CPAP Battery Kit box but may be bundled with the kit depending upon the dealer you purchase the product from.

Some older obsolete PAP devices and targeted ventilation PAP devices (VPAP, SV, etc.) may not be compatible or may require more power than the Freedom CPAP Battery can provide.

How long with the Freedom CPAP Battery power my PAP device?

Multiple factors will affect how long the Freedom CPAP Battery will power a PAP device, including, but not limited to device type, pressure setting, altitude, humidifier usage, and if an additional connection component is required in conjunction with the battery.

The use of heated humidification and heated tubing will significantly reduce expected run times by up to two thirds in most cases and in some cases could prevent the battery from being able to power the PAP device. For optimal run times heated humidification and heated tubing should be turned off.

BiLevel devices will have lower run times as the pressure setting is not constant and changes throughout the night requiring more power to operate the device.

To increase average run times the Freedom™ CPAP Battery can be used in a dual battery configuration by pigtailing two batteries together.

Average run times are based on CPAP devices without the use of heated humidification or heated tubing on a pressure setting of 10 cm/H2O.

Can I use heated humidification and heated tubing when using the Freedom CPAP Battery?

The use of heated humidification and heated tubing will significantly reduce expected run times by up to two thirds in most cases and in some cases could prevent the battery from being able to power the PAP device. To obtain optimal battery performance we recommend you forgo the use of heated humidification and heated tubing.

How do I connect my PAP device to the Freedom CPAP Battery?

See the Downloads tab for device-specific instruction sheets.

I have a 12V DC power cord for my PAP device. Can I use that to connect my PAP device to the Freedom CPAP Battery via the DC input cord included with the battery kit?

Technically yes; however, it will most likely only power the PAP device for a short time. This occurs because these types of DC power cords typically require a constant 12V power flow in order to work properly and the Freedom CPAP Battery functions on a voltage range (9V-12.6V) and cannot provide a constant 12V power flow. Therefore, these DC power cords are not a usually viable option for connecting a PAP device to the CPAP battery.

Do insurance companies pay for the Freedom CPAP Battery?

The Freedom CPAP Battery is not a Medicare coded item and is not considered medically necessary; therefore, it will most likely not be covered by insurance.

How long does it take to charge the Freedom CPAP Battery?

It will take approximately 4 hours (per battery when completely discharged) to charge the Freedom CPAP Battery. The Freedom CPAP Battery is made from high capacity lithium-ion cells so there is not the typical “memory loss” issues that are associated with other types of batteries. The battery does not need to be fully discharged before recharging.

Can the Freedom CPAP Battery be charged in a vehicle?

Yes. The Freedom CPAP Battery can be safely and efficiently charged via the cigarette lighter/power socket of a vehicle by using either the Auto Charge DC Cable or 150W Sine Wave Power Inverter.

Can the Freedom CPAP Battery be charged via a solar panel?

Yes. Our Freedom 50W Solar Panel can safely and efficiently charge the Freedom CPAP Battery. It also features a quick charge 3.0 USB port and comes with an output cable and set of ten (10) universal connector tips so you can easily charge other external batteries and portable electronics like cell phones and tablets that operate from 13.2V or less.

Can the Freedom CPAP Battery be used to power other small electronic devices?

Yes. The Freedom CPAP Battery can be used to power other small electronic devices such as cell phones and tablets via the 5V USB port, the DC Input Cord included with the CPAP Battery Kit or by using the 150W Sine Wave Power Inverter in conjunction with the battery.

Can I use the Freedom CPAP Battery as a backup option in the event of power outage?

Yes. The Freedom CPAP Battery can be used as a backup power supply for your PAP device during power outages. You may leave your PAP device connected to the battery when you sleep and in the event AC power is lost the battery will automatically begin powering your PAP device.

When AC power is available it will bypass the lithium-ion cells of the battery thus preventing unnecessary cycling and degradation of the cells (this is a new feature of the Freedom CPAP Battery and does not apply to the discontinued C-100 CPAP Battery model).

In the event AC power is lost the battery will recognize this lack of power flow and automatically begin powering your device uninterrupted.

Note: When using the Freedom CPAP Battery in the dual battery configuration in the power backup mode you will need to purchase an additional DC power pigtail cord.

See Downloads tab for device-specific instruction sheets.

Can I take the Freedom CPAP Battery on an airplane?

Yes. The Freedom CPAP Battery meets current requirements for lithium-ion batteries allowed in carry-on baggage in the United States (100 watt hours or less per battery). Lithium-ion batteries are not allowed in checked baggage. If you are planning to use the CPAP Battery on an aircraft, please contact your airline as they may have specific requirements regarding the use of PAP devices and/or lithium-ion batteries during flight.

Has the Freedom CPAP Battery been UN tested?

Yes. The Freedom CPAP Battery has been UN 38.3 tested and meets all current requirements for shipping via air, land or sea.
